Definition of ‘sexually violent’ skewed

You can be branded a "Sexually Violent Predator" by our government
without ever committing any actual act of "violence". In every state
using the term (as well as by the U.S. Federal government) it can mean
having ANY kind of "sexual contact" with someone under the age of 14 or
13 (depends on the State), and even if no force or coercion was
employed in the act.
Got that? The mere act of having "sexual
contact" with someone under that age is, in the government's
definition, "sexual violence". No actual "violence", as most sane
people would understand the term, need be employed.
Combine
that with the fact that "sexual contact" can consist of just about
anything: kissing, touching (even through clothes and even if what is
being touched are not genitals) and the government can utterly destroy
the lives and reputations of lots more men and, increasingly, women.
The
States and the U.S. government, having thus committed their own
violence upon the rights of their people - not to mention upon the
English language - can easily deploy the term "Sexually Violent
Predator" to put away decidedly non-violent offenders, effectively, for
the rest of their lives!
So now, when the government wants to
put someone away forever, and for what may have once been considered
inappropriate behavior, they have just the weapon to do it.
Its
a weapon that not only guarantees the permanent incapacitation of the
"offender", but also the overwhelming support from a pandering press
and a paranoid public.

"treatment" programs are a cynical tool for "commuting" prison
sentences to life imprisonment. Treatment was never a serious goal but

Who on Earth believes that this is a healthy and
appropriate response to two small children, literally, playing
"doctor"? Well, apart from the Taliban, apparently the
prosecutor, Madison Wisconsin District Attorney, Lisa Riniker,
does.
Several questions immediately spring to mind:
Is Grant County so flush with taxpayer money that the police and
district attorney have uncovered and prosecuted all other, more
serious, crimes in their community and are now free to pursue
six-year-olds?
Also, let's assume for the moment that Lisa Riniker is sincere
in her stated aim of getting the six-year-old boy the "help" he needs
(although from past knowledge of prosecutors, sincerity is not one of
their stronger traits). What will that "help"consist of? And "what"
will he be helped with? Sexual curiosity?
Will that "help" actually end up hurting him?
How will this intervention of "help" affect his future emotional
well-being?
There were two children involved in playing doctor, both a little girl
and a little boy. How was it that the boy was singled-out for
prosecution?
It should be manifestly clear that the anti-sex crusade begun decades
ago has mutated and expanded to claim ever more victims, including the
very children it professes to be "helping".
"Inappropriate" behavior has now become "criminalized" behavior with
need of "qualified" taxpayer-funded "intervention" and categorization,
if not outright imprisonment and permanently degraded citizenship.
Some of us said, more than a quarter of a century ago, that this was
the path along which we were being taken by a bizarre and hateful
alliance of right-wing, religious fundamentalists and bitter,
power-hungry, female supremacists who had, as their common interest,
the hatred of human sexuality.
And, sure enough, it is now easy to see the progression that this
movement has taken, with a gradual erosion of rights extending to
ever-greater numbers of victims.
One final question: where will this end?

This sort of First Amendment protected speech,
obnoxious though it may be, would have warranted nothing more than a
parental or school principal reprimand in times past.
Now, it's the sort of behavior that is treated as
a criminal offense and will, no doubt, eventually require registration
as a sex offender.
The "Zero Tolerance" society now deems a
schoolboy's creation and dissemination of a list ranking schoolgirl's
attractiveness (or other attributes not described in the news piece) as
a criminal act warranting criminal sanction. Why are we not surprised
that the net the hysterics have cast is growing so wide as to ensnare
even the kids themselves? Could it be that they are running out of
victims, err.. "victimizers"?

Osama bin Laden's daughter witnessed

You would have to have been living under a rock to
be unaware that Osama bin Laden (who, we now realize was himself, not
living under a rock) has just recently had his brains dashed-out in a
blazing act of home invasion.
That he was unarmed when he was shot in the head
while in his bedroom prompts little anguish when one considers his role
as titular head of a global movement of nihilistic savagery whose
ultimate goal is the destruction of the individual and the enslavement
of all humanity to the service of a vengeful God.
That is, until we learn, in details which came
into view over the next several days, that his wife (wives?) and
several of his many children were present during this summary
execution, including a twelve year old daughter who both witnessed the
act and later recounted it.
Incidentally, she too was wounded in the assault.
Having your father's brains blown-out before your
eyes must surely count as a likely source of deep and debilitating
trauma for a child, even if your father was Osama bin Laden.
Or so one might think.
Those who otherwise become agitated to a point of
nervous exhaustion when condemning any act of "inappropriate touching"
seem to be strangely silent on the fate of this young girl.
The logical conclusion one can draw from their
silence is that the girl should count herself lucky that she wasn't
propositioned by a sex tourist.
